The item is an ornate Venetian Volto masquerade mask decorated with burgundy feathers, gold trim, and lace netting. This style of mask is traditionally used during the Carnival of Venice and features full-face coverage or stylized porcelain-like features. Similar handmade pieces are crafted by Venetian artisans using traditional papier-mâché methods.
