Flower paintings of Marion Ellis Rowan - from collection from National Library of Australia - the Australian flower painter is held in the National Library of Australia.
No fewer than 947 of her paintings constituting perhaps one third of the prodigious output of her lifetime, were purchased by the Commonwealth Government in 1923, and later placed in the library.
The story of their acquisitions by the Government is recounted by Margaret Hazzard in her brief biology of the artist on the pages in this beautiful collectable book.
