Pre owned, very good condition, vintage Gibsonia pure wool blanket, manufactured in Melbourne, by the historic retail and manufacturing giant Foy & Gibson.
During the 20th century, these sturdy, blanket stitched wool blankets were prized household essentials, often given as wedding or engagement presence. Because Foy and Gibson went into liquidation in the late 1960s, any genuine Gibsonia labelled blanket is highly collectible piece of Australian textile history. And here you have it.
As with any pure wool item handwashing is safest method using cold water only and a mild pH neutral wool wash. Drying requires pressing the blanket to squeeze out excess water or lay on a flat clean surface in the shade to dry.
