Presbyterian Cookery Book - 15th Edition - Printed Feb. 1918
Published by Angus and Robertson Ltd, Sydney
What a step back through Australian culinary history - this "Cookery Book of Good and Tried Receipts" compiled for the Women's Missionary Assn. of the Presbyterian Church of NSW.
Printed in 1918, it offers a fascinating look at early 20th century recipes, and is packed with fantastic period advertisements for household staples such as Monkey Brand Soap (won't wash clothes), Lux, Aunt Mary's Baking Powder, Yolkova (makes the Custard look appetizing).
It offer War-Time economy hints, as well as "toilet hints" offering DIY for hair wash, tooth powder and cleaning gold chains.
It is in good honest "kitchen worn" condition.  The thick red-cloth cardboard covers are legible, there is fraying on the cloth edges, some binding separation at the bottom and expected age toning to the pages.
