Beautiful, genuine vintage hand carved and hand painted Swedish Dala Hose, made between 1950’s and the 1970’s. This piece features the classic vibrant orange/red base coat extended with traditional, intricately detailed multicoloured floral paintwork.
This horse is in a lovely vintage condition with beautiful ageing. It displayed fantastic authentic character, featuring minor, typical paint wear on the tips of the ears and edges as expected with a genuine midcentury folk art piece. The wood structure is entirely solid with no major cracks or structural damage.
The original label is intact, preserved on the underbelly, verifying the province and age.

Both families are the official, historic standard bearers of authentic Swedish Dala horses, making this piece a highly collectable, authentic Swedish handicraft rather than a generic knockoff.
