A magnificent and genuine piece of mid-century English pottery! This beautifully styled, twin-handled shallow bowl features a striking dappled glaze that captures the vibrant design spirit of the Art Deco era. Perfect as a statement piece, trinket dish, or collector’s addition.
Features & Details
• Design & Glaze: Features a stunning, complex drip glaze in shades of vivid sky blue and sunny yellow/gold. The interior is decorated with concentric ribbed rings and an elegant, hand-painted white scroll design.
• Style: Classic Art Deco / Mid-Century design with a shallow body and distinctive, looped twin handles.
• Maker: A sought-after piece from a notable Staffordshire pottery (likely Crown Devon or Carlton Ware, known for this style).
• Markings: Clearly stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" and impressed with the shape number 344 on the base.
• Function: Ideal as a beautiful display piece, a bonbon dish, a jewelry or trinket catch-all, or as a striking addition to a vintage china cabinet.
• Rarity: Discontinued and highly collectible shape and glaze combination.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition for its age (approx. 80-90 years old). The glaze remains bright and lustrous. There are minor signs of age-appropriate crazing to the glaze (tiny crackle lines), which is common and expected in earthenware of this period and does not affect the structural integrity. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
