IT’S FORMAL SEASON. AND IT’S TIME TO PUT A TWIST ON TRADITIONAL!

How to get the look
Be inspired and just ‘go for it’. Be individual. Mix and match. Think outside the box!

Look 1 … Glam Rock
An incredible sequin dress is given a punk edge by adding a leather skirt over the top. Slice the lining out of a sheer skirt to create a cool layered yet light panel.
One earring instead of two completes the edgy formal babe feels.

Outfit: Dress, leather skirt, sheer skirt, shoes, earring and bag $55

Look 2 … Deconstruct Me
Faye was inspired by the face dress from high end French Designer Maison Margiela. She turned a V-neck dress into a vest by slicing it up the middle and put leather look leggings on underneath.

A singlet with a striking front was placed underneath to create depth and interest. Then there's the train! This is actually a satin curtain Faye found in the haberdashery section.

Outfit: Dress, leggings, singlet and curtain $30

Look 3 … Well Suited
A classic white suit jacket gets a makeover and is worn off the shoulder with a vintage leather pencil skirt.

A black plaited belt becomes a shoulder strap and contrasting trim for the jacket.

Outfit: Jack, skirt, belt and shoes $50

Look 4 … Pink Hair! Don’t Care!
Millennials are trying new hues for their do's to be different.

To complement and highlight Shania's hair Faye found some fantastic neon pink pants and converted a ripped strapless dress into a bustier. All it took was a simple sideways slice and quick stitch on the machine. It's a modern take on ‘Pretty in Pink’.

Outfit: Pants, bustier/dress, shoes and bag $40
