New to You

In a world where Australians send over 210,000 tonnes of clothing to landfill each year, what would happen if we redefined what it means to buy ‘new’ clothes? Does ‘new’ have to mean completely new, or just ‘New to You’?

This year, Fashion Revolution Week marks 10 years since Rana Plaza - the tragedy that inspired the Fashion Revolution movement. In the 10 years since the Rana Plaza disaster, a lot of progress has been made towards revolutionising the way we design, manufacture, wear, and discard our clothes. Give a Gift as Special as Mum this Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is all about making the most important women and maternal figures in our lives feel as special and loved as they should feel every day of the year. While it may seem unconventional, thrifting your Mother’s Day presents can be a great way to find something personalised and meaningful, yet also cost-effective. It’s all about considering what makes the person that you want to honour on Mother’s Day unique, what they like and what matters to them, and then making the effort to find something that speaks to that.

On Saturday the 26th of November, the day after Black Friday, we will be running 'Secondhand Saturday'. On this day, we are encouraging everyone - regardless of which colour Friday you shopped on - to give the preloved items they no longer need a new life by donating them to Salvos Stores. By making a donation on Secondhand Saturday, you can clear space in your home for any new sale purchases by contributing to the circular economy, not landfill.
