These Terms & Conditions explain the terms that apply when you shop with Salvos Stores, use our online store, purchase or use a Salvos Stores Gift Card, or participate in Full Circle Rewards.
Please select the relevant section below. The General T&Cs apply across Salvos Stores. The other sections contain additional terms for the relevant service or program.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Applies across Salvos Stores. Product, promotion and channel-specific terms may add to these terms.
These General T&Cs apply to purchases from participating Salvos Stores in Australia and to your use of Salvos Stores websites and digital services. Additional terms may apply to online purchases, Gift Cards, Full Circle Rewards, promotions or third-party marketplaces.
For a particular transaction, any specific terms clearly disclosed for that transaction or promotion apply together with these General T&Cs. If there is an inconsistency, the specific terms apply to the extent of the inconsistency. Applicable law always prevails.
Salvos Stores is part of The Salvation Army in Australia. The legal entity supplying your items will be the entity identified on your receipt, order confirmation or relevant marketplace listing. References to "Salvos Stores", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the relevant Salvos Stores supplier for the transaction.
Most items sold by Salvos Stores are donated and second-hand. Their age, condition, signs of previous use, completeness and original packaging will vary. We aim to describe material features and known faults accurately and, where relevant, photographs and condition information form part of the product description.
The condition, age, price, description and any faults specifically disclosed before purchase are relevant to what a customer can reasonably expect from a second-hand item. A disclosed fault does not affect your rights in relation to a different fault or another consumer guarantee.
Items sold by Salvos Stores come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law where that law applies. These include guarantees relating to acceptable quality, fitness for a disclosed purpose, correspondence with description, title and other statutory rights.
If an item fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy depending on the circumstances and the law. These rights are separate from, and may continue beyond, any voluntary return or exchange period.
In addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, Salvos Stores offers a change-of-mind refund or exchange for eligible items purchased in store within 30 days of purchase, provided you have valid proof of purchase, the original Salvos Stores tags remain attached and the item is returned in the same condition in which it was sold.
Some items may be excluded from change-of-mind returns for hygiene, health, safety or other reasonable reasons. Any such exclusion should be disclosed before purchase. An exclusion from our returns and exchanges policy does not exclude rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Refunds are generally made to the original payment method. If a store cannot safely or practically process a return of a large item, we may direct you to another Salvos Store or another reasonable return method.
Prices and promotional offers may vary by store, channel, location or time. Promotion-specific terms, including eligibility, dates, exclusions and limits, apply to that promotion.
We take reasonable care to ensure pricing and product information is accurate. If an obvious pricing, description or system error is identified before a transaction is completed, we may correct the error and, where relevant, give you the opportunity to proceed at the correct price or receive a refund.
We may withdraw an item from sale, cancel an order or contact a customer where reasonably necessary because of a product safety concern, recall, legal restriction or other safety issue. Where a paid order is cancelled for this reason, the amount paid for the affected item will be refunded.
We handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and The Salvation Army Australia Privacy Policy, available at https://www.salvationarmy.org.au/about-us/governance-and-policies/privacy-policy/.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes apply prospectively from the date they are published unless a different date is stated.
Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen under a completed transaction or any right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
All copyright, trademarks, design rights, patents and other intellectual property rights on our website or in Salvos Stores belong to us or are used under a licence, unless otherwise stated. These General T&Cs do not grant you any right to use that intellectual property without our prior written consent.
We are not liable for any delay, interruption, failure to perform, or inability to fulfil an order where this is caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These events may include natural disasters, floods, fires, severe weather, pandemics, epidemics, strikes, industrial disputes, transport disruptions, power outages, failures of telecommunications or technology systems, government actions, or other similar events.
We may assign, transfer or otherwise deal with our rights and responsibilities under these General T&Cs at any time. If we do, your rights under these General T&Cs will not be affected.
You cannot assign, transfer or otherwise deal with your rights or responsibilities under these General T&Cs without our prior written consent.
Nothing in these General T&Cs creates an agency, partnership, joint venture, employment or franchise between you and us.
Any part of these General T&Cs that is illegal, void or unenforceable may be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in force and effect.
If we do not enforce our rights under these General T&Cs, that does not mean we have waived those rights.
These General T&Cs are governed by the laws in Victoria, Australia. You and Salvos Stores submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
For assistance, contact Salvos Stores through the contact details published on salvosstores.com.au or speak with a team member at a participating Salvos Store.
Additional terms for salvosstores.com.au and, where relevant, official Salvos Stores marketplace accounts.
These Online Store T&Cs apply to purchases made through salvosstores.com.au. They also apply, to the extent relevant, to purchases from an official Salvos Stores account on a third-party marketplace such as eBay or Depop, together with the rules and protections of that marketplace. The General T&Cs also apply.
Payment is required at checkout using one of the payment methods displayed at checkout. These may include payment card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. Cash cannot be used to pay for an online purchase.
Most items sold online are one-off items. Completing checkout places an order and authorises payment, but an item is not guaranteed to be available until we confirm the order. Items cannot be reserved through the online store.
If an item has already been sold, cannot be located, does not pass a required safety check, contains a material listing error, or cannot lawfully or reasonably be supplied, we may cancel the affected item or order and refund the amount paid for it.
We take reasonable care to ensure product details, descriptions and prices are accurate. Product images form part of the description and should be considered together with the written listing. Colours and appearance may vary slightly because of lighting, photography and screen settings.
Because most items are second-hand, signs of previous use may be present. Where a specific fault, mark, missing component or limitation is identified in the listing or images, that information forms part of the description. If an item is materially different from its description, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law may apply.
Because most items sold by Salvos Stores are donated and second-hand, their age, history, condition, packaging and completeness will vary.
We use the following general condition guide across product categories:
NEW: WITH TAGS
Appears unused and in new condition, with its original retail swing tag or ticket attached.
NEW: WITHOUT TAGS
Appears unused and in new condition but does not have its original retail swing tag or ticket attached.
NEW: FACTORY SECOND
An item identified as a factory second and offered in new condition, with a fault or imperfection disclosed in the listing. Check the listing and images for details of the specific fault or imperfection.
USED: VERY GOOD
Shows minimal signs of previous use and has no significant faults affecting its appearance or use.
USED: GOOD
Shows noticeable signs of previous use or wear but remains serviceable. This may include minor marks, fading, scuffs, creasing or other cosmetic wear.
USED: FAIR
Shows significant signs of previous use or wear but remains serviceable. It may have more noticeable marks, scratches, fading, small tears, cosmetic damage or missing non-essential components.
USED: POOR
Heavily worn, damaged or incomplete and may be better suited to repair, restoration, repurposing or upcycling. Significant faults should be identified in the listing and images.
Condition grades are general guides only. The specific listing, photographs and any faults, limitations or missing components disclosed for an individual item take priority over the general condition description.
From time to time we offer discount or promo codes for use online. Enter the code at checkout and eligible items will be discounted in accordance with the terms of the offer. Unless the offer states otherwise, a discount or promo code cannot be combined with another offer.
Where a coloured-tag offer is made available online, only eligible items carrying the relevant tag or otherwise identified as included in the offer qualify. Promotional tags, eligibility and pricing may change between promotional periods.
Available shipping methods, charges and any delivery estimates are shown at checkout and may also be published at https://www.salvosstores.com.au/shipping. Shipping charges may apply separately for items fulfilled from different store locations.
Dispatch and delivery timeframes are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise. Tracking details will be provided where available. If your order is delayed or appears to be missing, please contact Customer Support so that we can investigate.
Risk of loss or damage to an item remains with Salvos Stores until the item is delivered to the delivery address provided with the order. Ownership of the item passes to you upon delivery.
Click & Collect is available only for eligible items and participating stores. Collection is from the store identified in the order; items cannot necessarily be transferred to another store for collection.
We will notify you when your order is ready and the date by which it must be collected. Please bring your order number and valid photo identification. If another person will collect your order on your behalf, contact our Online Customer Support team at ssonlinestore@salvationarmy.org.au before collection. That person must bring your order number and valid photo identification.
If an order is not collected by the deadline stated in the collection notice, we may cancel the order and arrange a refund. We will take reasonable steps to contact you before or when this occurs.
For Click & Collect orders, risk of loss or damage and ownership of the item pass to you when the item is collected by you or a person authorised to collect it on your behalf.
In addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we accept eligible change-of-mind returns for a refund within 30 days after you receive your online order, provided the original Salvos Stores tags remain attached and the item is returned in the same condition in which it was sold.
For an online change-of-mind return, delivery charges and return-postage costs are not refundable unless we state otherwise or the law requires otherwise. Different rules may apply where an item is faulty, unsafe, not as described or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee.
For current return instructions, use the Returns information and portal at https://www.salvosstores.com.au/online-order-returns. If you need assistance with a return, including a return outside the 30-day period, contact Customer Support at ssonlinestore@salvationarmy.org.au.
When you buy from an official Salvos Stores account on a third-party marketplace, the marketplace's terms, payment processes, return settings and buyer-protection rules may also apply. If a listing says "no returns" or similar, that statement relates only to change-of-mind returns and does not exclude any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If there is a conflict between these terms and a mandatory marketplace rule that applies to the transaction, the mandatory marketplace rule applies to the extent of the conflict. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited by marketplace wording.
For questions about a specific item, contact the store identified in the listing where possible. For general online-store enquiries, including returns and shipping, contact ssonlinestore@salvationarmy.org.au.
Terms for purchasing, using and managing Salvos Stores Gift Cards.
These Gift Card T&Cs apply to Salvos Stores Gift Cards issued by The Salvation Army (Victoria) Property Trust (ARBN 143 615 169, incorporated in Victoria) trading as Salvos Stores (ABN 64 472 238 844). By purchasing, receiving or using a Gift Card, you indicate you have read, understood and accept these Gift Card T&Cs.
A participating Salvos Store means a Salvos Stores retail store in Australia. It does not include a Salvation Army Thrift Shop, a Salvos Store outside Australia or another retailer unless expressly stated.
Gift Cards can be purchased at participating Salvos Stores and loaded with an amount up to $500. They may be paid for using a payment method accepted by the store, but another Gift Card cannot be used to purchase a Gift Card.
A Gift Card is activated when value is successfully loaded. A brief activation delay may occur. Gift Cards can only be loaded or redeemed when the relevant register and Gift Card system are available.
Gift Cards can be redeemed for eligible purchases at participating Salvos Stores in Australia.
Gift Cards cannot be used to make purchases through the Salvos Stores online store, eBay or another online marketplace; to purchase another Gift Card; in vending machines; in Salvation Army Thrift Shops; at Salvos Stores outside Australia; or to pay for third-party services, unless we expressly state otherwise.
Full Circle Rewards points are not ordinarily earned when purchasing a Gift Card, unless a promotion expressly says otherwise. If an eligible purchase is paid for using a Gift Card, Full Circle Rewards points may still be earned in accordance with the Full Circle Rewards T&Cs.
Present the Gift Card at the point of sale and tell the team member how much you wish to redeem. You do not need to use the full balance in one transaction. If the purchase price exceeds the available balance, the difference may be paid using another payment method accepted by the store.
Gift Cards are not legal tender, credit cards or debit cards. Except where required by law, Gift Card value cannot be exchanged for cash and cash change is not given from the balance.
You can ask a team member at a participating Salvos Store to check the balance of your Gift Card.
A Salvos Stores Gift Card is valid for 3 years from its date of issue. After expiry, any remaining value cannot be redeemed except where the law requires otherwise.
Items purchased wholly or partly with a Gift Card may be returned in accordance with the applicable Salvos Stores returns policy and the Australian Consumer Law. The 30-day return period does not limit rights or remedies that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where a refund is due for an amount paid by Gift Card, we may return that amount to a Gift Card or other equivalent stored-value method, unless the law requires a different remedy.
Please treat a Gift Card like cash. Lost or stolen Gift Cards may not be able to be replaced or refunded unless required by law. If a Gift Card is faulty or damaged, contact us and we will assess whether it can reasonably be replaced or reissued.
We may suspend, cancel or verify a Gift Card where we reasonably suspect tampering, fraud, misuse, a system error or another security issue. We may correct an incorrectly recorded balance where there is a genuine clerical, accounting or system error.
We may update these Gift Card T&Cs where reasonably necessary. If a change would materially reduce how an existing Gift Card can be used, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by publishing the change on our website unless a shorter period is required by law or urgently required for security or fraud prevention.
If we discontinue the Gift Card program, we will provide a reasonable way for customers to use, replace or receive the value of valid unspent Gift Cards, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Gift Card T&Cs excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, except to the extent the loss is caused or contributed to by our breach, negligence or other conduct for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Personal information connected with Gift Cards is handled in accordance with The Salvation Army Australia Privacy Policy at https://www.salvationarmy.org.au/about-us/governance-and-policies/privacy-policy/.
For Gift Card enquiries or complaints, call 13 SALVOS (13 72 58) or speak with a team member at a participating Salvos Store.
Terms for membership, earning and using Full Circle Rewards points and credit.
Full Circle Rewards is the Salvos Stores in-store loyalty program (Rewards). Membership is free. You may join if you are aged 16 years or over and have a current Australian residential address.
You can join at a participating Salvos Store by providing the information requested for membership. You do not need a physical card to participate. If a physical Rewards card is available and you choose to use one, it may be linked to your membership account.
You may end your membership at any time by contacting Salvos Stores or asking a team member in store.
Points are earned on qualifying purchases of donated items at participating Salvos Stores. Unless a promotion expressly states otherwise, purchases of new items, Gift Cards and monetary donations, including donations to the Red Shield Appeal, are not qualifying purchases.
For each $1 spent on qualifying purchases, you earn 1 point. Each point is worth 5 cents of Rewards credit. For example, $10 of qualifying purchases earns 10 points, equal to 50 cents of Rewards credit.
To earn points, your membership account must be identified at the time of purchase using the details or membership method accepted by the store.
If a transaction is cancelled, refunded or reversed, we may reverse the points and Rewards credit earned from that transaction. If some of that Rewards credit has already been redeemed, your balance may become negative.
We may correct points or Rewards credit credited in error or obtained through misuse, fraud or an invalid transaction.
Rewards credit may be redeemed by the account holder toward eligible in-store purchases at participating Salvos Stores. It is not redeemable for cash and cannot be sold or transferred to another person.
Any unredeemed Rewards credit remains on your account until used or expired in accordance with these T&Cs.
If you do not earn or redeem any points or Rewards credit for 12 consecutive months, your points and Rewards credit will expire. We may also close an inactive account after that period. Any reminder we may send is a courtesy and does not change the inactivity period.
You are responsible for keeping your membership details reasonably up to date and for telling us if a physical Rewards card linked to your account is lost or stolen. We may temporarily restrict redemption where reasonably necessary to verify an account, protect your balance or address suspected misuse.
We may make reasonable changes to Full Circle Rewards, including changes to eligible purchases, earning rates, redemption values, expiry rules or program features.
Where a change would materially reduce the value or use of points or Rewards credit already earned, we will give reasonable advance notice where practicable. This does not prevent us from making an immediate change where reasonably required by law, to correct an error, or to protect the program or members from fraud, misuse or a security issue.
Changes apply prospectively from the date stated in the notice. Nothing in these T&Cs allows us to remove a right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may suspend or terminate a membership where we reasonably believe a member has materially breached these T&Cs, obtained or used points or Rewards credit dishonestly, provided materially misleading information in connection with the program, or behaved abusively or offensively toward Salvos Stores team members or volunteers.
We may also close or discontinue Full Circle Rewards. If we do, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and explain how valid existing Rewards credit will be treated, subject to applicable law.
We collect and use personal information needed to establish and administer your membership, record points and Rewards credit, provide account and program communications, prevent misuse and provide member services. We handle personal information in accordance with The Salvation Army Australia Privacy Policy at https://www.salvationarmy.org.au/about-us/governance-and-policies/privacy-policy/.
We may use service providers to help operate the program, including information technology, communications and marketing service providers, in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
Joining Full Circle Rewards does not prevent you from changing your marketing preferences. We may send marketing communications where permitted by law and in accordance with your preferences. Marketing messages will provide an appropriate way to unsubscribe or opt out. Opting out of marketing does not, by itself, end your Full Circle Rewards membership or prevent service messages needed to administer your account.
Nothing in these Full Circle Rewards T&Cs excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
If any provision of these T&Cs is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
You can ask about your membership or Rewards balance at a participating Salvos Store or contact Salvos Stores on 13 SALVOS (13 72 58).
No, Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase another Gift Card.
Yes, you can use Full Circle Rewards credit towards the total or partial payment for a Gift Card.
