On Broadway is not only filled with never-before-heard backstage stories of 20 years of theatrical productions, it's also the first illustrated book to look at Broadway — and New York — through the eyes of SpotCo, the graphic designers who shine city (and nation)-wide spotlights on the Great White Way. An oral history homage to New York, theater-going, and the creative process, from the actors, actresses, and behind-the scenes people who put on a show, it is filled with so many never-before seen photographs, posters, and ephemera that readers will feel that they are front row-center to the behind-the-curtain process (and drama) involved in creating a hit show.
Filled with more stars, images, and remembrances than an opening night party at Sardi's, On Broadway shines a spotlight on the last 20 years of hits, from the innovative and unforgettable campaign for Jonathan Larson's Rent, up through and including Broadway's latest success, Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton. Readers will be ushered to their front-row-center seat to witness the creativity and creative process involved in bringing Broadway's brightest off the stage and into the public.
