2 Vintage Ravensburger Board Games:
1. Ravensburger 1982 Snail Trail Game - a game designed for 2 to 4 players aged 6 to adult.
Summary of Gameplay:
- Objective: Be the first player to navigate the spiral path and reach the Ladybug at the exact center of the snail shell.
- The Board: Features a colorful, large interlocking jigsaw puzzle board depicting a giant snail-shell spiral.
- Movement & Strategy: Unlike its non-competitive younger-child counterpart Snail's Pace Race, Snail Trail involves an exciting race of pursuit. Players roll the dice and strategically distribute their movements among their pieces.
- Key Mechanics: You must race to the end while trying to stay ahead of opponents. If an opponent lands on your piece, you can be caught and sent all the way back to the start. Landing on specific lucky spaces allows you to take shortcuts directly toward the center
2. Ravensburger 1978 Off to the Tower Board Game
Gameplay Mechanics:
The game features a unique interlocking puzzle-piece gameboard with a plastic or cardboard tower assembly in the centre.
- The Objective: Players control two tokens of their chosen colour and race to stay ahead of their opponents around the track.
- Movement: On a turn, a player rolls two dice and chooses one of the numbers to move a token. If a player lands exactly on a space that matches their token's colour, they earn a bonus roll.
- The Tower Rule: If a player lands directly on a space occupied by an opponent's token, that opponent is captured and sent "off to the Tower".
- To get a piece out of the tower and back onto the board, the captured player must roll a specific number (usually a 6)
