The brooch is a combination of hard edged textured silver tone metal and twinkling marcasite.
This medium sized bow or ribbon shaped brooch with the bold design and sparkles can be worn with so many outfits.

**The Sphinx company, which produced the brooch, was a British manufacturer of high-quality costume jewelry that operated from 1948 to the late 1990s. The company began marking its pieces with a name and a design number, such as the "16089" on this brooch, starting in the 1960s. Based on the style and markings, it is a vintage piece, likely produced sometime between the 1960s and 1990s.
There is a small almost unnoticeable discolouration at the side of one ribbon.
